Abstract：
Reflection asymmetric shell model is applied for the description of the low-energy level spectrum in odd-A ^221,223Ra nuclei. The ground-state spin parity and the ground-state parity doublet bands are well reproduced by the present model. The presence of parity doublets suggests reflection-asymmetric (octupole deformed) shapes for nuclei ²²¹Ra and ²²³Ra.
